The view from the Dome is more than spectacular, and it’s the goal of many visitors.
Of course, you can enjoy the breath-taking view only by climbing the 463 steps of the Dome, a single visit to the top can give you a full view of Florence, Fiesole and the nice mountains beyond. It’s a perspective-changing experience and an absolute ‘must’ when it comes to visiting the religious sight in Florence.
Today visitors can spot the statues of both creators, located outside the Duomo.
At 45meters wide, it is the single largest masonry dome in the world.. The name of Giorgio Vasari is written in the amazing frescoes of the Last Judgment (1572-9). The frescoes are the most significant artwork in the Duomo, bringing us to the fact that Frederico Zuccari finished the work of Vasari in 1579. Although he wasn’t as talented as his teacher, Zuccari did an amazing job with the frescoes.
Travel to the top of Brunelleschi’s Dome, Florence’s most iconic attraction, with this 1 hour tour and reserved entrance ticket and get a magnificent 360° view of the city.
The ticket will also allow you to visit (no tour): the Museum, the Baptistery, and the Cript ( the cript is inside the Cathedral, be aware that nobody can skip the line for the Cathedral)
