The magnificent dome witnesses the beauty of the Italian Renaissance, and the design was signed by Filippo Brunelleschi. The Gothic structure only contributes to the brilliance of the cathedral. It was constructed in honor of Santa Maria del Fiore. The whole area is known to locals as the “Duomo” or dome, after the structure. Designed by Filippo Brunelleschi and completed in 1436, it took sixteen years to build.
Follow your guide for an exclusive close-up view of the structure and explore passages closed to the general public and get a magnificent look at the city skyline and 360° view of the city.
The ticket will also allow you to visit (no tour): the Museum, the Baptistery, and the Cript ( the cript is inside Cathedral, be aware that nobody can skip the line for the Cathedral)
Break until 18:15, to avoid the high temperatures and to have some time on your one., then we will start the walking tour from Piazza del Duomo and will pass through Dante's quarter and Signoria's Square with the imposing Old Palace and its high tower.
Next stop: Uffizi Gallery's courtyard, under the Vasarian Corridor towards
Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge of Florence, with jewellery shops and many secrets...We will reach Pitti Palace in the Oltrarno, a part of Florence which hides artists' workshops and Santo Spirito church, which shields Michelangelo's memories. Last but not least, our expert guide will give you the idea of living in Florence during the Renaissance thanks to Strozzi's Palace.
Last point will be the real centre of Florence, founded by Romans in 59 BC, Republic's Square, a
symbol of the “rebirth” of the city during the 19th century.
