Step 1 – 11:00 Uffizi Gallery
Here will explore a vast collection of paintings and busts sculptures of the Medici family such as Lorenzo the Magnificent, Cosimo I & sons, Maria & Catherine de Medici ( queen of France ), Gian Gastone, several original roman sculptures, sarcophagus and so on. The works of art survived the battle against time, witnessing the brilliance of Italian artists. Admirers of Caravaggio’s work are offered a long-lasting excitement, as the artist’s works are displayed on the first floor. Many visitors are interested in the Tribune of the Uffizi that is an octagonal room designed by Bernardo Buontalenti. Believe it or not, the best of all antiquities and High Renaissance paintings from the Medici history are still set in the room.The construction of the Uffizi complex was started by Giorgio Vasari in 1560. It’s sole purpose was to accommodate each of the offices of the Florentin magistrates. Alfonso Parigi and Bernardo Buontalenti completed the construction in 1581.

You can also admire other renomated unfinished sculptures by the renaissance genius, like the Slaves, originally intended for the tomb of Pope Julius II, and a statue of Saint Matthew.

Step 5 - we will start the walking tour of the city Medieval center that includes the Duomo and the other side of the Old Bridge, the Oltrarno area.
