pantheon

The most preserved Roman ancient monument, initially constructed as an all gods temple but later, in 7th century it became an catholic church. Pantheon is unique as construction and also the largest unsupported dome in the world. Michelangelo’s first impression made him say that it rather looks like an angel’s work instead of a human construction.

trevi fountain

Without doubts world’s most famous and largest Baroque fountain in the world will take your breathaway at first sight. Throwing a coin in the fountain with the right hand over the left shoulder, according to the legend, will ensure that you will return to Rome, so why not?

HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR ROME TOURS

Rome is one of the most historically relevant cities in the entire world. For many years it was the capital of maybe the most important empire in ancient time.
The reason why there are so many trips is because Rome’s history spans over more than 28 centuries. This is an iconic, beautiful city and even if it did evolve and modernize quite a lot, it still retains a whole lot of the ancient artifacts and establishments that made it what it is today.

It clearly shines and it offers you that unique opportunity you do not want to miss at all. You will appreciate the great attention to detail and outstanding locations that you can visit with our tour guides in Rome. And you can rest assured that we will put our energy into customizing your Rome Tours so you can have the best experience.

The Pantheon, a greed adjective which means honor all Gods, is the best preserved Ancient Roman monument. It was originally a temple and was turned into a church in 609AD.

The exact composition of the material used in its construction is still unknown, although it is similar to the modern day concrete. The Pantheon’s most fascinating part is its giant concrete dome and open oculus with a diameter of 142 feet.

The Trevi Fountain is Italy’s largest and most famous fountain as well as one of the most stunning fountains in the world.
The fountain, designed by Nicola Salvi and completed in 1762, is situated at the junction of three roads, which gives the fountain its name – The Trevi fountain, translated as The Three Street Fountain.
It was built with the same material as the Colosseum – the travertine stone, standing at a massive 85 feet and 65 feet wide. The fountain designs include Neptune, the god of the sea, from whose mouth water flows from, and also a statue of the goddess of abundance. The famous fountain has also been featured in several films including Roman Holiday, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, and Three Coins in the Fountain.

The Spanish Steps, built in 1725 by Francesco de Sanctis, are a set of steps on a steep slope linking the Piazza Trinita dei Monti, a beautiful twin tower church dominating the skyline, to the Piazza di Spagna below.

The steps consist of 138 pieces of irregular butterfly design steps that are an excellent example of Rome’s baroque style and are the widest stairway in Europe. At the bottom of the step is the Fontana della Barcaccia, which is in the form of a sinking ship and credited to Bernini

The Piazza Navona, built on the former Stadium of Domitian in 86AD, is the most beautiful and one of the most famous of Rome’s many squares.

The long, oval shaped square has a larger area than the Colosseum and has three fantastic fountains and the Baroque church of St. Agnese.

The catacombs of St. Callixtus is one Rome’s catacombs located on the Apian way, and famous for containing the tombs of 16 papal tombs, as well as dozens of tombs of martyrs and saints from the 2nd to the 4th centuries.
It is an elaborate graveyard almost 20km long and occupying 15 hectares underground. It’s most ancient parts include the crypt of Lucina, the region of St. Cecilia and the region of the Popes. The region of the Popes contains the tombs of the Popes, including that of Pope Gaius, Pope Cornelius, and Pope Sixtus II, who was killed during the Valerian prosecution.

The Basilica di San Clemente is a ‘lasagne church (many layers church)’ dedicate to Pope Clement I. It is a three layer basilica, with the present basilica built during the middle age above a 4th-century basilica that was converted out of a roman nobleman’s house where clandestine Christian worship was held. The Roman nobleman’s house itself had been built on the foundation of a villa destroyed in the massive fire of 64AD.

In the lower chambers of Basilica San Clemente is the largest collection of early medieval wall paintings, and a street from the first century AD is still present.

The Borghese Gallery is one of the most important museums and art gallery that Rome has to offer. It was comissioned by cardinal Scipione Borghese in 1613, who was an very avid art collector owning an impressive Baroque, Reinassance & Roman art collection.

Scipione Borghese is considered to be the one who discovered & sponsored the unmatched talent of the sculptor & architect Gian Lorenzo Bernini, consideredto be the one of the most important Italian artists in the history also known as the founder of the Baroque sculpting style.
